My wife thinks he was killed over gambling debt and that he used donation money to gamble.

They won't say how he was identified. We have only the word of a spokesman. The body was unrecognizable. Until the coroner goes on record how he identified the body this is fake news.

Good point. It's always possible he went into a witness protection program. Just a bit odd that it would go this way instead of his just disappearing.
