Caffeine

In the 70s scientists never mentioned adenosine in regards to caffeine they just mentioned Adrenalin and sugar release.

Adenosine blocking by caffeine is a theory there is zero data showing any such effect by caffeine.

Caffeine in reasonable dosages has no detrimental effect on cells its actual mode of action is unknown but they can observe the effects.

Caffeine causes neurons to improve function, they become stronger and release noradrenaline in the brain. The pituitary alerts the adrenals to release adrenaline and sugar for the muscles to get ready.

I like Butter Bob better. Americans are so high carb we have become afraid of insulin. Fasting is a quick way to reset the system but if you change your diet you don't need it. Same with lifelong calorie restriction. If you are eating nutritious food designed for your species then restricting food is unnecessary.

His Snake Juice seems rather high on potassium chloride. In the 50/50 sodium-potassium light salts they say use like regular salt but if you read label on pure potassium chloride it says take only 1/8 tsp one to 3 times a day for a total potassium amount of 1100 mgs or one gram. It hits you faster than food potassium. One large potato with skin is a gram of potassium as an example.

I noticed that coffee makes my complacency even worse, after the first pot of coffee I just don't want to do anything...other than brew three more.

I've found this usually happens when your reserve energy level is in the low-medium range. You have enough reserve to return to a normal state with some energy. Caffeine releases Adrenalin and the Dopamine reward burst. It blocks the adenosine receptors. Blocked adenosine receptors don’t stop normal production of adenosine. This leaves you with higher levels of adenosine. When caffeine wears off, the built-up adenosine dumps in to the adenosine receptors. This makes you want to fall asleep during daytime hours. So you crave more caffeine to boost wakefulness by re-blocking it and more Adrenalin to increase burning of glucose and release cortisol.

In college 2 cups of coffee during breakfast would last all day with no let down in the evening because my reserves were so high. In my 30s with habitual coffee consumption I had to have another 2 cups around 2 PM or I felt tired. If you have no reserve 2 cups of coffee will put you to sleep.

Keep daily caffeine under 300 mgs and last cup around 2 PM. Drink 3-4 glasses of water for hydration thru the day.
