Hermes, the messenger of the gods was also known as the Bringer of Dreams. According to myth, he could take any human form and enter the dreams of men and gods alike, relaying messages, insights, and premonitions.
A trickster from birth, one of his most enduring myths concerned the theft of his brother Apollo's cattle.

I remember that part from JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS. When my sons are older they'll watch a lot of Harryhausen.
That Hermes thing may have been a warning to me. I'm aware of the presence of Pan (Powerful Animal Child) in my life trying to destroy me. In fact when I showed my wife my favourite painting she was completely turned off by something I had never given much attention to: Pan is hidden in plain sight, ruining everything.
